On August 16, 1987, people from all walks of life fulfilled ancient prophecy from many traditions when they gathered at dawn at sacred sites throughout the planet in a ceremony called Harmonic Convergence. The timing of the event was determined by the Mayan Sacred Calendar and by prophecy regarding the return of the spirit of Feathered Serpent, mythic redeeming figure of Mesoamerican spirituality. For thousands of years, the work of those who have embodied the spirit of Feathered Serpent has been to help heal and redeem a fragmented humanity through a reawakening of sacred view, and the re-establishment of sacred order.

To the Inca of South America, Feathered Serpent was known as Viracocha. To the Maya of the Yucatan, Feathered Serpent was Kukulcan, and to the Maya of Guatemala, Gukamatz, the vision serpent. We are perhaps most familiar with this figure as Quetzalcoatl, the name chosen by the ancient Aztec peoples of Mexico.

Hundreds of thousands of people participated in Harmonic Convergence thus turning it into one of the largest globally synchronized events of all time. It united “sacred warriors of the heart” worldwide and consolidated a host of universal values common to spiritual traditions from around the world. People came together in large groups, small groups, alone and in pairs. The visionary Dream of Harmonic Convergence in some way touched them all. At the core of the Dream is a shared intent to peacefully co-create a spiritually inspired global culture. It was, and still is, a Dream devoted to ensuring the long-term sustainability of humanity and of the many species with whom we share this rare planet.

This book proposes that the collective aspiration of sacred warriors throughout the planet to manifest the Dream of Harmonic Convergence represents a powerful vector of intention directly aligned to the currently unfolding astronomical cycle linking Saturn and Uranus. Since their conjunction early in 1988, these two planets have been moving into greater and greater opposition and will come to exact opposition on November 4, 2008, the projected date of the next American federal election.
